Do You Believe the Mustang Stereotype?
This stereotype in particular is the AssHat Stereotype
The AssHat that always wants to do one of the following:
1. Thinks his car is best car
2. Does much burnouts
3. Ruins car shows and Cars & Coffee by doing something stupid
4. Is an AssHat
5. Tries to doing something cool, ends up doing something stupid and crashes his Stang. Like this:

Good polls.
Include something about Iroc-Z's relationship with trailer parks in the next one.

Actually, the next one will be a "Firebird Edition"....
But maybe for a future one!
Edit: Curious, the IROC-Z has a relationship with trailer parks?

Which 5 people just lost their oppo card for voting automatic transmission?

You kids need to appreciate the 5.0 fox body. These things ruled the road when new, nothing could touch them....... (Exotics not included)

MULLETS! ALL THE MULLETS! 3rd gen = Mullets, murder, and meth dealer. Yet I still want one...

i'm 18 and appreciate the Fox-Body! :)

Anyways, I used to make frequent visits to a particular trailer park, and my Iroc-Z counter was at around 3.

IROC-Z clones definitely do...

In these pictures (5th-refresh and 6th), I like the interior of the 5th gen refresh the best... The 6th gen looks so cluttered! I hope one with a full screen looks a little cleaner... But still, I think I would still prefer the 5th-re.
But at the end of the day a gen-1 pony interior in cream color with a forest green exterior is one of the best interiors ever, haha.

Suggestion: For the next pole why don't you have a"Have you owned this car" or "have you ridden in this car" box?
![]() 03/11/2014 at 20:33 |

They should be revered. Glad you appreciate them. They really were the best car a regular person could buy in their day. I was just surprised at how little love they got in the voting. Surely not the prettiest but one of the best.
![]() 03/11/2014 at 20:33 |

I haven't a clue why I've never had one of those boxes....
Consider it done! I appreciate the advice/criticism!

I think they look pretty nice! I haven't seen one in person or driven or taken a ride in one; but I can appreciate the success Ford had with the platform and the fact that it's a Mustang. I'd love to learn some more about them and one they have a Fox-Body; it's on my list of cars to have in a garage! That red one in particular. I personally have to go with the '69-70 Stang for best looks but this would be in my top 3 no doubt!

4th Gen new edge because I own a GT of that style. :] It could definitely handle better though.

A fox body should be in everyones garage. really easy to work on, simple to upgrade with huge aftermarket support. Tons of information from books to videos to websites out there. Perfect car to learn how to fix/build/modify cars. The 86 GT was the first year with the 5.0 HO. No side skirts until the 87 model. My favorite is the 93 Cobra. I have a 92 LX 5.0 Convertible.

What's the 5.0 HO? Should I assume that it was one of the best 5.0L V8s ever on a Mustang?
![]() 03/11/2014 at 20:51 |
|
Yes, simple single cam, pushrod V8 with Fuel injection. Super easy to work on and modify.
The earlier fox bodies could be had with a carbureted 5.o liter v8 but they were really underpowered compared to the the late 80's early 90's HO (high output) motors.

I reckon that's why I've seen a few on craigslist as tuners and drag cars... :P

They didn't get much love in the voting because, while fast in their day, they are pretty awful in the grand scheme of Mustang history. Stock, they didn't have much power (can't blame the car though, nothing did back then) and they built them for far too long.

Only exception is TH400/PowerGlide

for me it's more about nostalgia than anything else. When I was in high school (early 90's) these things ruled the streets. I will admit that my feelings of grandeur may have more to do with the experiences I had in my 92 vert than the actual car itself. I love that car but the things I did in it and the places it took me will never be topped.

The 5th gen/refresh has more practicality than the 6th gen (bigger rear seat). I have a soft spot for the New Edges too.
That said, hope the 6th gen does well!

I'm convinced all the best cars were made in 1969-71

I was thinking that today/yesterday when someone posted a generation article. "What was is your favorite car from the generation you were born"

I purchased a 2012 GT. Not specifically because I wanted a Mustang, but it was the best overall performer under 30k. I do kind of like the muscle car mentality.
